![]() It totally goes against what you are used to with elastic closures on notebooks and does take a bit of getting used to. First, it is large as I just said, but it sits on the left hand side of the cover and you pull it over the left hand side of the book. This is unlike any other elastic closure I’ve seen before. It feels rather stiff, but as with all leather goods I’m sure it will soften in time. ![]() The leather has a lovely matt finish with burnished edges and is hand stitched. On opening the beautiful Galen Leather box I was presented with my beautiful Notebook cover. These were some packets of tea, one happened to be Early Grey which is my favourite (how did they know?!), Turkish coffee and an evil eye trinket which you could use a planner charm. Even though we should be reducing where we can, I love this box, and I know that I’ll be repurposing it to store stickers, paper and other ephemera.Īlso within my parcel was a little pouch containing some added extras. ![]() This size is perfect for my bullet journals as I’m usually an A5 dot grid kinda girl.ĭelivery was speedy, from Turkey to NZ it only took a week. I received an A5 Notebook cover in Natural. You can read more about their amazing and incredibly touching story here. They are a small family owned company based in Turkey and ship worldwide. Some of their offerings include notebook covers, pencil cases, pens and notebooks. Galen Leather create hand-crafted leather good for people who love to put pen to paper. Recently I was lucky enough to have Galen Leather reach out to me to try one of their products and I’m going to share my thoughts now that I’ve got my hands on one of these pretties. Would I go with a zipped up folio or an elasticated cover? And what kind of leather? And what colour? So many colour choices! Always finding it hard to decide what notebook cover I would buy if I could. I have perused their website time and again over the last couple of years, drooling, fantasising. That is until I discovered Galen Leather. I just figured a notebook cover would just add more bulk for me to carry around. I’ve always just thrown my notebooks into my handbag and not worried about them. The new pens, the new notebooks, and there are so many! But one thing I’ve never really coveted are notebook covers. Since I started bullet journaling, I’ve always wanted to own the coolest stationery. If you enjoyed this article, share it on Pinterest! Thanks so much to Pen Classics Nz for sending these to me to try out! If you want to pick up your own set you can get yours here! I am really looking forward to using these in my journals! I definitely think that if you’re wanting to add some fun and colour pops to your collection then this little set for Pilot Iroshizuku inks is perfect!! The bottles aren’t large and the price is very reasonable. I do think the Sui-Gyoku (emerald green) will be lovely to journal with in my bullet journal. As you can see the colours are just stunning! But I can’t really imagine the two lightest colours in a fountain pen, but definitely can picture them being used for sketching and decorating the pages of your favourite Hobinichi planner. The easiest way for me to swatch these was to use my glass dip pen. So I was so happy to see these beautiful bright colours when I opened the box!! The Lamy ink was just plain black, boring, so I thought the Inkvent calendar would add some variety to my collection – I was wrong as it contained mostly blues, browns and greens. The only inks I have ever bought before were Lamy ink when I bought my very first fountain pen ever (it was a Lamy Safari btw), and a Diamine Inkvent Calendar a few years ago. On opening the courier bag, I found a cute package was a lovely little minimal box containing 3 bottles of ink: It was that cute! I love how Pen Classics made the effort to wrap this package! I kid you not, I let this little fella sit on my desk unopened for a couple of days. Inside the courier bag was the most gorgeous little package, wrapped in brown paper with a beautiful wax seal. Ok, I’m far from being an ink aficionado, but inks fall under the realm of stationery and art supplies, so when Rene from Pen Classics NZ asked if I wanted to try out the new 2022 Pilot Iroshizuku inks, I said hell yeah!
